3rd Grade Bike Rodeo

Date: TBA

What to Expect:
Before the event, each classroom will watch an instructional video about bike and road safety. Afterward, teachers will review the key points and give students a short safety quiz to reinforce what they’ve learned.

On the day, all third grade students who have returned their permission slips and bring their bike and helmet to school will get to participate in exciting outdoor activities.

The day will kick off with a special visit from a City of Anaheim Police Motorcycle Officer, who will speak to the kids about the importance of bike safety. Then, we’ll conduct bike inspections to ensure every bike is safe to ride. After passing inspection, students will navigate an obstacle course designed to test their bike handling skills and their knowledge of the rules of the road.

Each participant will receive a bicycle license and will earn the privilege to ride their bike to school!

Important Details for Participants:

  • Bring your own bike, ready for inspection
  • Bring your own helmet
  • No training wheels, scooters, or razors allowed — only bikes!
  • Bikes and helmets are required to participate
