Art Masters
The Art Masters program is funded by Running Springs Academy, not by the PTA. However, the PTA supports the program through volunteer efforts.
The Art Masters program is a supplementary art education initiative designed to complement social studies and language arts curricula. Delivered once per trimester to all students, this engaging program provides a unique opportunity to explore and create art inspired by featured artists.
Program Structure
The Art Masters program is divided into two main components:
Part One: Visual Media Assembly for Featured Artist
- Description: Art Masters teachers present a dynamic multi-media assembly featuring art visuals, images, and captivating stories about a selected artist.
- Objective: To introduce students to the life and work of a featured artist, providing context and inspiration through visual and narrative elements.
Part Two: Classroom Art Activity for Featured Artist
- Description: Following the assembly, students participate in hands-on studio art activities. They create individual artworks inspired by the featured artist, employing similar styles, techniques, media, and disciplines.
- Objective: To allow students to apply what they've learned about the artist in a practical, creative way, fostering personal expression and artistic skills.
Program Goals
- Enhance Art Education: Provide supplementary art education that enriches the standard curriculum.
